Treat the base

Patients often wonder why the doctor prescribed a foot orthotics for his knee or back pain? And most of the time they are amazed by the magic happened with a little insert in the shoe. Foot orthotics/Insoles are a well-researched and proven, simple and effective method for many lower limb medical conditions. Irrespective of the foot orthotic concepts, most of them designed to correct the foot misalignments, it helps for better functioning primarily the feet and secondarily the whole lower limb, stabilizing the foot and ankle joint and reduce the foot and ankle injury risks. Below are the few medical conditions we treat with 8 sole

  • Flat feet- Is a condition where normal feet arches are very low or absent. Cause of flat feet is mostly genetic factors or weakness of feet structures. Human feet have several joints, bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments. These structures help to form the arches and provide a shock-absorbing effect during walking or running and help to distribute body weight across the feet and legs. Interruption in these mechanisms will cause abnormal biomechanics of walking pattern, and it will adversely affect the lower limb joints.
  • Back pain- The are multiple common reasons for back pain. A good percentage of patients who has flat feet[hyper pronation] or high arch [hyper supination] may also have back pain. During hyper pronated walking, there will be an excessive inward motion of the foot cause leg turn inward. This affects knees, hip and lower back posture. Additionally, because of the excessive foot motion, the muscles on the inside of legs must work harder to pull the foot up, where hyper-supination causes outward rotation of the legs and extra stress to muscles on the outside of the leg lead to problems in the hips and lower back.
  • Heel spurs- Heel spurs are conditions where excess bone grows on the back or bottom of the heel. And it causes pain during walking. Orthotics can support the foot and offload the painful area.
  • Plantar fasciitis- is one of the most common causes of heel pain. It involves inflammation of a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of your foot and connects your heel bone to your toes.
  • High arches- also known as Cavus foot is a condition in which the foot has a very high arch. an excessive amount of weight is placed on the ball and heel of the foot when walking or standing. Cavus foot can lead to a variety of signs and symptoms, such as pain and instability.
  • Achilles tendinitis- is an overuse injury of the Achilles tendon, the band of tissue that connects calf muscles at the back of the lower leg to your heel bone. This can be treated with orthotics by correcting the feet biomechanics.
  • Bunions- are painful bumps that develop at the base of the big toe and cause foot deformities. Orthotics with a wide toe box helps to redistribute the pressure in the forefoot.
  • Injuries- People who’ve experienced trauma to their feet and ankles may require extra support during the healing process with orthotics.
