Paediatric Orthotic Clinic

MOBILIS PAEDIATRIC ORTHOTIC CLINIC is specialized in providing custom-made solutions for neuromuscular conditions for children, including lower limb and upper limb orthotics and custom molded seating systems.

We deal with the following conditions:

  • Infantile Cerebral Palsy (ICP)
  • Spina bifida
  • Myelomeningocele (MMC)
  • Arthrogryposis multiplex congenita (AMC)
  • Muscular dystrophy,
  • Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease etc.,

MOBILIS clinicians are trained and experienced in handling such complex challenges to achieve the best possible functional outcome. We believe in an interdisciplinary rehabilitation approach that will help us innovate and create devices to achieve therapy goals by taking decisions together with the physician, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, patient, and family.

Our focus is to develop devices which the human body will adapt to without creating pain for the patient and which support, corrects, and activates the parts of the body that are affected by disease or disability.

To reach perfection, our clinician’s knowledge and creativity is the key element. We give importance to bio-mechanical functions as well as fashionable designs which should psychologically motivate our differently-abled clients. Intensive research and cutting-edge technology make us unique in the region.

Evidence-Based Practice for Optimal Result

When it comes to orthotics, we do not compromise, we practice evidence-based approach. We use the best possible technologies available in the world. Nothing restricts us to bring our patients the best possible solutions. The journey with MOBILIS starts with a prescription from treating physician or treating therapist with a treatment goal. We share ideas, we prototype or sometimes think out of the box to bring the desired goal. Our follow up program helps parents and therapy teams to communicate with our orthotist to make necessary adjustments during growth or repair after wear and tear.

Gait and Performance analysis

When human eyes can’t capture the minute gait deviations, and muscular imbalances, advanced cameras and other technologies like electromyography (EMG) help us examine the patient biomechanical abnormalities and motor neurons function during specific movements for insights into muscular fatigue and performance. We work in collaboration with the unique Human Performance Laboratory in Dubai for a detailed analysis report if necessary, for neuromuscular conditions in children.

Indications

Mobilis clinicians are experienced in handling neuromuscular conditions in children including Infantile Cerebral Palsy (ICP),Spina bifida, Myelomeningocele (MMC), Arthrogryposis multiplex congenita (AMC),Muscular dystrophy, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease etc., The goal for lower limb orthotic management of such medical conditions specially in cerebral palsy are to correct and/or prevent deformity; to provide a base of support; to facilitate training in skills; and to improve the efficiency of gait. Other goals include increasing range of motion, maintaining or improving levels of function and stability; maintaining muscle length as the bones grow, and preventing or overcoming some of the secondary effects of the disability leading into adulthood.
